Learn to protect your workplace from threats, handle sensitive data safely, and secure systems against unauthorized access.

This essential training prepares all employees to recognize and defend against cybersecurity threats that can compromise workplace data, systems, and operations. Workers will learn how cyber attacks occur, the serious consequences of data breaches, and their personal responsibility in protecting company and customer information from unauthorized access. The program covers the most common cybersecurity threats including phishing emails and social engineering attacks, malware and ransomware, weak password practices, unsecured Wi-Fi networks, and physical security breaches. Participants will learn to identify suspicious emails and links, recognize when they may be targets of social engineering, and understand how seemingly minor security lapses can lead to major breaches. Topics include creating and managing strong, unique passwords and implementing multi-factor authentication, recognizing phishing attempts and suspicious communications, safe internet browsing and email practices, protecting sensitive data both digitally and physically, proper handling of company devices and removable media, secure remote work practices, reporting procedures for suspected security incidents, and compliance with company cybersecurity policies and data protection regulations. This training emphasizes that cybersecurity is everyone's responsibility—not just the IT department's—and that human error is the leading cause of security breaches in organizations.
Employees are expected to be cautious of unsolicited emails or messages that create a sense of urgency, request sensitive information, or contain unfamiliar links or attachments. Indicators of phishing cover misspellings, generic greetings, and email addresses that don't match the sender.
When working remotely, use devices approved by your organization and ensure they are equipped with updated security software. Connect to the internet through secure networks, preferably using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Be cautious with public Wi-Fi, as it may be unsecured and susceptible to eavesdropping.
Keeping software and systems updated ensures that security vulnerabilities are patched, reducing the risk of exploitation by cybercriminals. Outdated software may be a gateway for attacks, as known vulnerabilities may be targeted. Regular updates help maintain the integrity and security of systems.
When traveling, use your cellular network or a VPN to get secure internet access. If you need to use a public network, ensure it is reputable and refrain from accessing sensitive information, including online banking.
Be familiar with your work environment and report any activity or objects that may appear suspicious or out of place. As an employee, you may be one of the most effective security tools in your organization by remaining aware at all times and reporting anything unusual.
